Stride USA Scholarships exists because the route to an American scholarship is far harder to navigate than it should be.

Our Story

Why we started Stride

Our team has lived both sides of the process — as recruited athletes on American campuses and as coaches assessing the film that lands in their inbox. We know which profiles get opened, which emails get answered, and how funding decisions are really made.

Stride was built to give families that inside view without the guesswork: clear timelines, honest assessments and a single advisor accountable from the first call to arrival day.

Honesty first

If America is not the right move for you, we say so. A realistic plan beats an optimistic one every time.

Coach relationships

Our placements come from trust built over years with college coaching staff, not cold databases.

Athletes, not numbers

We cap our intake so every athlete gets a named advisor who knows their game and their grades.

Recognised authority on US college placements

One of the UK's most experienced voices in American college football placements

Jamie made the move to the United States on a football scholarship in 1998 — long before the pathway was mapped, filmed or understood from this side of the Atlantic — and he has been helping players follow the same journey for more than 25 years. Few people in the UK know the American college system as deeply. A career forged across playing, coaching, club management and football business development has made him one of the country's most trusted authorities on placing footballers at US colleges — a specialist, not a generalist.

Recognised as an early pioneer of the US soccer scholarship sector, Jamie has built and led a scholarship company that has placed more than 1,000 international student athletes into American colleges. Over more than a decade of leading tours and placements, he has personally taken in excess of forty international teams to tournaments across the United States — putting players in front of college coaches and exposing them, first hand, to the standard demanded at the next level.

His placements cover the complete landscape of American college football: NCAA Division I and Division II powerhouses, NCAA Division III programmes, highly competitive NAIA schools, and junior colleges offering the two-year route to a four-year degree. That breadth is what sets a true placement specialist apart — it means Jamie fits every athlete to the level that genuinely matches their ability, their grades and their ambition, rather than chasing a single dream offer that may never materialise.

Every athlete's exit route runs through Jamie — whether the future lies in professional football, a UK university or a US scholarship. The plan is always honest, always realistic and built entirely around the individual. His coaching eye, honed across years on the grass in the English game, lets him read a player's true level the way an American college coach does — and speak the same language when opening doors on the other side of the Atlantic.

Our scouting network

Eyes on talent, across the UK and overseas

Jamie is supported by a dedicated team of scouts who span the length and breadth of the United Kingdom and reach across to our overseas hubs. They watch matches, training and showcases year-round — identifying boys and girls whose ability, attitude and academics fit the American college game, and feeding every sighting back to one central point of judgement.

That network is how no promising player slips through the cracks, and how every assessment is made on the same standard a college coach would apply. It is also how we keep our advice honest: a player's level is read in person, not guessed from a highlight reel.
